– This iconic New England style was invented in Norway, but perfected in Maine. The Quoddy version is built the traditional way with handsewn true moccasin construction for a glove-like fit. We start, as always, with best quality leathers and suedes. Then, a hand-built leather sole and heel are stitched to the upper, not glued, so that it remains supremely flexible, and infinitely resoleable. We take it a couple of steps further by razor siping the forefoot to enhance flexibility and traction, and adding a layer of natural cork in the heel for cushioning.
